Here are a few things about me to get to know me. First of all my name is Marvin Jesse Vasquez. I was born in Long Beach, California and raised in Carson, Perris and Moreno Valley, California. I have recently moved back here to Carson about 8months ago after living with my sister and her family in search for a job to help pay my own expenses with my parents. I was very lucky to get a job through my brother in a company call SVS (Social Vocational Services) and have been working for little over 6 months now. I greatly enjoy the job in coaching adults with mental disabilities to help them achieve a job in a competitive work environment. This is my first class ever for college and is looking forward to it greatly and hope to succeed. For 4 years I have been holding a slightly above average GPA and hope to improve it during college experience.
Over the years I have been gaining a passion for art, but not just the basics of painting and drawing. I look at art as everything us; see, hear, smell, taste. I enjoy playing guitar and making some kinds of collaboration with other friends or family. Listening to music is my main favorite part about art because I like to feel it and calm myself with it. I am also currently in a Folkloric Group in which I dance traditional Spanish dances. I have been dancing for about a year and half and performed live TV shows as well as travel to China and Dubai with the previous group I was in. The current group I am a part of is more work but not as much TV or Show as the previous, but we do perform a lot still. I am happy about having my lover/ dance partner Flor in the group. So far my life is good, a few obstacles to overcome and stress to relieve, but I am pleased with what I have accomplished so a far. I think of this class as the first step an enjoyable future with a career.
